Gerbera daisies are native to South Africa, America, and Asia, and were first discovered in 1727. They are named after the German botanist Traugott Gerber. There are over 200 types of gerbera in almost every color imaginable. The gerbera plant naturally grows low to the ground surrounded by a spray of green leaves.
